Satire
A. Grown-Ups- During the church sermon, Tom starts throwing the pinch book around his church. The is satire on grownups because the adults in the church weren't doing anything except laughing and watching instead of stopping it.
B. They are making fun of religion when they have to memorize the scripture instead of learning and studying it. There is no point of memorizing something that you haven't learned.
C. Tom is trying to find many different ways to skip school and not to go to school. I think this is satire on schooling because they are not doing anything to prevent the kids from skipping school.
D. Tom tricks his Aunt Polly but she doesn't hit him when he steals sugar from the sugar jar. She is also showing that she knows that there are other ways to solve problems and consequences then by hitting the child.
E. Law and Order- Huckleberry Finn is not subject to law. He is the son of the town drunk. Nobody wants anything to do with him because of his troublesome father. Therefore, he does not have to follow the rules people give to him.
F. Wealth & Image- When Tom and the rich boy go at it, it is showing wealth and image because the rich guys thinks he is better than Tom just because he is rich. They get mad and start screaming at each other.
G. Supersition- The people in Toms village chant a lot of chants because they think it will get rid of the warts. They would have all these fake superstitions like digging the wart out with the bean then plant it.
H. Prejudices & Biases- When Tom and the rich boy get in a tussle, the rich boy thinks he is better then Tom just because he is richer than Tom.
